HEACHAM F C
Firstly we are delighted to announce that Heacham F C have made it through to the finals of the “Your Local Paper Awards” where exceptional sportsmen, women and teams, who have achieved incredible success in their respective field, are honoured and recognised. This is a great testament to everyone connected with the Club. Will we win it? All will be revealed in the May Newsletter.
THE TEAMS
The first team have suffered a set back in their quest for automatic promotion from the Thurlow Nunn Division 1 North with a home defeat against local rivals Downham Town by 2 goals to nil. The game attracted an attendance of 270, which saw in form Downham leapfrog Heacham to top spot in the league. Downham now lead by one point with both teams having 8 remaining games to play. Prior to this match the first team had continued their fine form with wins at Debenham LC 4-0 and home wins against Whittlesey Athletic 3-0 and Swaffham Town 2-1, which saw the switch on of the floodlights. The Swaffham game attracted a record home league attendance of 298, which also was the highest attendance for a club at our level (step 6) in the whole of the country for that weekend, truly a magnificent achievement by the club.
