30. March's Edtion 2022

Since the last article the first team have been involved in some close games. However, they currently still sit top of the league by 4 points and have 5 games in hand on the team in second place. The 1st team went away to Mundford in the 3rd round of the Norfolk Senior Cup and with the game finishing 2-2 at the final whistle, it went to penalties, Heacham winning 4-3 after some heroics from goalkeeper Sam Pishorn. This was then followed by a 2-2 draw away at Beccles Town and then being awarded a home win, when Bradenham Wanderers were unable to fulfill the fixture. This was then followed up by an away trip to Easton (Mummery Cup S/F) which ended in another 2-2 draw. Unfortunately the penalty shoot out resulted in a 9-8 loss. This was a fantastic effort by the boys considering goalkeeper Sam Pishorn was badly injured early on in the first half and with Ed Tann going in goal, it was always going to be an uphill struggle. This coming Saturday (19th Feb) the 1st team are due to play Mulbarton away in the Norfolk Senior Cup (Q/F) k.o. 3.00, which without a doubt is the biggest game in the Club's history, a full report will appear in the next month's issue.
